CALANGUTE: Calangute Police arrested a couple from Delhi, in addition to the two persons earlier nabbed in the sex trade which was busted on Friday.
Calangute Police received specific information that Ravi Sinha and his spouse Mansidas were to visit Calangute along with some girls and accordingly intercepted a car (GA-07-C-8184).
The couple was detained and the two girls in the car were rescued at Gaura Vaddo, Calangute at around 8.30 pm on Friday. The girls were later sent to the Protective Home at Merces while the couple was arrested under the Immoral Traffic Act. PI Nilesh Rane is investigating the case.
It may be recalled that the Calangute Police had recently arrested two persons, Namai Jana of Kolkata and a taxi driver, Nagesh Gajanan Sawant of Varkhand, Pernem, in the prostitution racket and had rescued two girls at Calangute.
