The Governor and Chancellor Goa University was the chief guest. Leader of the Opposition, Pratapsing Rane, Vice-Chancellor, GU, Dr Satish Shetye and Principal Bhaskar Nayak were present and witnessed the release of the Golden Jubilee logo of the college by the Governor in the presence of the Trustee of DCT, Shrinivas Dempo, Pallavi Dempo and Vishwasrao Dempo, members of the management, staff and students. The occasion was marked by release of a postal commemorative envelop ‘Special Cover’ by P Ranjit Kumar, Postmaster General, Goa Region, Department of Posts. A documentary tracing the 50 years journey was the highlight of the evening.
Konknni course for beginners
PANJIM: Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr, Alto Porvorim, will conduct a half-day Konknni course for beginners in Devnagiri and Romi script from July 8 to 12. The timings are either from 10 am to 12.30 pm or from 2.15 pm to 5.15pm. Since the seats are limited, prior booking is mandatory, which can be done by calling the office.
Seminar for students, teachers
PANJIM: The Diocesan Catechetical Centre (DCC), Old Goa, is organizing a half-day seminar cum workshop entitled ‘Student and teacher wellness’ for all the ABE and DSE schools. The participants are the heads, teachers and students of Std X. The seminar will be held from July 6 to 11, at six different centres. On July 6 – at Fatima Convent, Margao; July 7 – at Maria Bambina Convent HS, Cuncolim; July 8 – at St Mary’s Convent HS, Mapusa; July 9 – at St Andrew’s HS, Vasco; July 10 – at Verna Church Hall and on July 11 – at Cruz dos Milagres, Old Goa. The seminar for students will be from 9 am to 11.30 am and for teachers it will be from 3 pm to 5.30 pm. The topic for students is ‘Dare, Dream, Do’ The topic for teachers is ‘Creative Engagement of Students in Classrooms.’ The sessions will be conducted by Dr Divya Paul.
