Diversion of traffic from Chorao ferry point

PANJIM: The North District Magistrate has ordered temporary diversion of traffic from Chorao ferry point to Balbhim Maharudra Sansthan Temple for the laying of high tension cable, till May 15. 
Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd, which is carrying out the work, has been directed to adhere to a list of terms and conditions such as ensuring that normal flow of vehicular traffic on the parallel and surrounding roads is not obstructed. 
Magistrate R Menaka has also directed that vehicles proceeding to Panjim from Old Goa via Divja Circle — Ribandar Patto should take the normal route and the traffic from Old Goa to Panjim should be diverted at the main junction Old Goa Gandhi Circle and at Harkatro Neura junction to take route via Kadamba Plateau. 
“One-way traffic shall be allowed on the said road. Regular route buses shall take the normal route, thus shall be excluded from the said diversion,” the notice added. 
On the safety measures to be undertaken while carrying out the project, the contractor is asked to ensure that material used for road barricading be pasted with fluorescent tapes for clear visibility during the night; and a red light may be preferred so that the danger is visible from far distance ‘altering the motorists for the approaching threat.’
“Sufficient traffic signage/directions shall be erected at all the road closure points for the information of motorists. Traffic marshals shall be posted to guide the motorists at all junctions/intersection points,” the order reads. 
Among other set of conditions, the agency is asked display contact details of the supervisor at the work site and to complete the work within the stipulated time. All the debris should be removed and road be kept clear after the work is complete, it states.
