Hubert Gomes kicked off his second phase of election campaign in Benaulim constituency by taking out a workers rally in Pedda-Benaulim on Monday noon.
Accompanied by a dedicated band of supporters and workers, Dr Gomes visited door-to-door to drum up support for his candidature.
“I had started my campaign two years ago and my first phase of campaigning is over now”, he told newsmen as he kicked off his campaign today.
Replying to a question, Dr Gomes said he would soon release his manifesto for Benaulim constituency and reiterated that he would contest the coming polls as an Independent candidate. “I will extend support any ruling coalition, but issue based”, he said.
Saying that he has been receiving good response for his campaign across Benaulim constituency, Dr Gomes said “what you see at the rally is just a sample of my support. Many a supporter have not come out openly as they are scared of the traditional bigwigs”, he said.
