Driver Beheaded in Bihar’s Forbesganj After Dispute; Attacker Beaten to Death by Mob

Tension gripped Forbesganj town in north Bihar on Thursday after a violent altercation between a pickup van driver and a roadside vendor resulted in two deaths, police said.

According to Jitendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Araria district, the incident occurred in the morning following a dispute between Nabi Hussain, a pickup vehicle driver, and Ravi Chauhan, a vendor who sold sattu (roasted gram flour) in the local market.

Police said the argument escalated quickly, during which Chauhan allegedly attacked Hussain with a dagger, beheading him. The weapon used in the crime has been recovered.

Locals present at the scene overpowered Chauhan and assaulted him before police arrived. A team rushed to the spot upon receiving information and rescued the accused, who was then taken to a hospital. However, he later succumbed to injuries.

“The bodies of both the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway,” the SP said.

The incident has sparked tension in the area, with authorities maintaining a close watch to ensure law and order.
