Dubai-Based Influencer Wants Corporate Job Back Despite Online Success

Dubai-based influencer Stanly has gone viral after sharing an emotional video explaining why she now wants to leave the influencer industry and return to a traditional job, despite earning more money than ever before.

In the video, Stanly described the “brutal, unfiltered, honest truth” about being a full-time content creator, saying that the glamorous lifestyle associated with social media fame no longer feels fulfilling.

“I quit my job nearly two years ago to live the dream and become a full-time influencer and content creator. And now I am looking for a job again,” she said.

Stanly clarified that her decision was not related to money. According to her, she was financially more successful as an influencer than during her corporate career. However, she explained that the lack of structure, stimulation and meaningful daily experiences left her feeling creatively exhausted.

The influencer, who is of Indian descent and has spent most of her life in Dubai, said she originally began posting content while balancing a demanding corporate job and major personal changes, including leaving a toxic relationship and moving into her first apartment.

“There was a lot going on for me, which naturally inspired me to start making videos,” she explained, adding that she once had a “happening life” that gave her stories and experiences to share online.

Stanly admitted that influencing is far easier than many people claim. “Social media is not that hard,” she said, noting that influencers enjoy flexible schedules, freedom to travel and far less daily pressure than regular jobs.

However, she said too much freedom eventually became emotionally draining. “We as humans also need pressure and friction in our lives,” she explained.

Describing her routine as repetitive and intellectually unstimulating, Stanly said she is now actively job-hunting, even though returning to the corporate world after years away feels uncertain.
