PANJIM: The North Goa Collector on Wednesday inspected the Ribandar football ground where the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has allegedly dumped its huge equipment and material.
Adv Aires Rodrigues in his complaint to the Collector last week had pointed out that the Ribandar football ground had become a dumping yard for the IPSCDL.
Collector R Menaka accompanied by Additional Collector Vikas Gaunekar and Tiswadi Deputy Collector Vivek H P inspected the site.
Pointing out that Ribandar has only one playground where the youth have been playing football and cricket from time immemorial, Adv Rodrigues in his complaint had drawn the attention of the Collector that the IPSCDL had also erected a huge shed to house its workers, who are bathing in the open while, another shed is being constructed to house more workers.
Submitting to the Collector photographs of the site, Adv Rodrigues in his complaint had stated that these acts by IPSCDL were absolutely illegal, unauthorised and a clear high-handed trespass into Ribandar’s football ground.
He had urged the Collector to direct the IPSCDL to immediately remove all their stuff, which has been dumped and to clear the structures erected on the football ground besides taking action against IPSCDL for acting in violation of law.
