MAPUSA: Two youth died, while two others sustained injuries in a road accident at Sautawado, Assagao on Sunday early morning.
According to available information, four persons namely Ethan Brian Viegas from Pilerne, Lee Ann Rocha from Calangute, Lioney Pereira from Ribandar and Zahid Shaikh from Mapusa were travelling in a Ritz car, which was proceeding from Candolim and on reaching Sautawado, Assagao; Ethan, who was driving the car lost control and rammed the vehicle into a compound wall of a house. The impact was such that Ethan sustained serious injuries and was shifted to District Hospital Mapusa, where the doctors on duty declared him brought dead, while Lee Ann, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, succumbed while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim in the evening.
Two other occupants – Lioney and Zahid also sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. The impact of the accident was such that the girl who had occupied the seat next to the driver got trapped inside the car and was later removed by the Mapusa fire personnel.
