MARGAO: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Wednesday called for the early shifting of the sub-treasury and the office of Salcete Sub-Registrar into the new Collectorate building, even as District Collector N D Agrawal told the Minister of having “discovered” a new conference room in the new building.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the Revenue portfolio, had a review meeting with the District Collector on the progress of shifting of revenue related offices, including the sub-treasury and the Sub-Registrar’s office into the new building. He told Herald after the review meeting that he has underlined the need to shift both the sub-treasury and the Sub-Registrar office. “The Collector has maintained that the two offices could not be shifted till date because of the strong room of the sub-treasury is not yet ready, while the cabinets for the sub-registrar’s office are slowly falling in place,”                he said.
