CANACONA: An elderly person from Nanem in Gaondogrem was assaulted by his neighbour on Tuesday.
According to Canacona police, upon an written complaint from Arjun Bombo Velip (60) that he was assaulted by Zilo Paik Velip from the same locality with a pickaxe on Tuesday evening, a case is registered against the accused under Section 324 of IPC for causing hurt by dangerous weapon.
The complainant was referred to Canacona community health centre with injuries to his ribs. Sources said that the floor doctors on duty referred him to Hospicio hospital, Margao for further treatment.
Police said that the accused is not arrested yet and investigation is in progress in the case.
