MARGAO: A third person absconding in the 21-year-old Eurico Oliveira abduction and assault case has filed an application prayig for anticipatory bail before the Additional Sessions Court, Margao.
So far, the police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the case.
Meanwhile, Herald stands clarified through this report that the victim Eurico Oliveira is alive and is in safe hands of his guardians in Goa. Herald had inadvertently reported that the victim had died due to the assault inflicted on him after he was abducted, which is not so and hence stands corrected for the error through this report.
It may be recalled that the Maina Curtorim Police had registered an abduction and assault case against four unknown persons following a complaint lodged by Oliveira from Angadi, Camurlim. Oliveira had complained that he was abducted, assaulted and threatened one evening while returning from work.
The case is being investigated for the charges against accused under Sections 504, 506, 342, 324 and 365 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
