MARGAO: The residents of a building in Agalli-Fatorda were shell shocked to receive a whopping Rs 13,000 water bill from the PWD (Water Supply) for a period of 295 days.
In the building only six flats have been occupied which have a common meter that was installed in April 2016.
The building occupants are shocked and surprised as to why the PWD water supply did not issue the bill within a certain period.
The residents had earlier met the Assistant Engineer with their problem. However, the residents claimed that they were ‘chased away’ by him that he cannot help them.
One of the occupants, Sachin Damsadekar has approached the higher ups for help and to allow the occupants to pay the bill in instalments.
“How can they issue the first water bill and that too after a year? At least, a bill within 3-4 months should have been affordable because people are not left with any money after buying houses. The staff needs to handle these issues with more sensitiveness to avoid tussles,” Sachin said.
