PANJIM: The arrival of several hundred passengers from Russia on October 4 will mark the onset of the new tourism season 2018-19. Three charter companies, including one of the largest charter services Concord, will be bringing chartered tourists to Goa.
“The first charter flight from Russia will landing at Dabolim on October 4,” Travel and Tourism Association of Goa President Savio Messias told Herald.
While the coming tourist season looks challenging, TTAG hopes Goa gets more flights than last season that saw close to 1000 flights. In the first three weeks of the month, Messias said that one charter flight will land in Goa per week and the number would increase thereafter.
Beach shacks are also all set to start business. As many as 350 shacks have been given provisional licenses to begin operations along the beach belt with maximum allotted on Calangute beach.
