Flyer detained at Mopa airport for uttering the word ‘bomb’

PERNEM: A man travelling to Mumbai was taken into custody by the Mopa airport police for using the word ‘bomb’ as he was conversing with a receptionist. The incident took place when the 30-year-old man reportedly called up the call centre of the airlines at Gurugram and questioned about the postponement of Goa-Mumbai flight. During the conversation the word ‘bomb’ was used.

The man then arrived in Goa by another flight and the airport authorities questioned him and found no satisfactory answers. The Mopa Airport PI Ninad Deulkar stated that considering the nature of the call the traveller was arrested and the police tried to investigate the authenticity of the conversation to rule out criminal proceedings.
