MAPUSA: In a letter to Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA), Chief Secretary and other concerned authorities, the Calangute Constituency Forum on Monday sought action against the alleged illegal construction of structures and a swimming pool using laterite stones within 100 meters from LTL in a plot at Candolim.
The Forum stated that the said owner has encroached on the government land towards the seaside which is not permissible as per the law and the concerned authorities should take immediate action against such illegal construction and demolish the same to restore the beach area to its original status.
Strongly objecting to such construction within CRZ, it claimed that the same creates adverse impact on beach environment and shall be dealt with an immediate action against the violators.
