In a significant health initiative by the Government of Goa, a Mobile Cancer Detection Van from Goa Medical College & Hospitals is stationed at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Siolim today, April 11, from 9 AM to 1 PM. The drive aims to promote early detection and timely treatment, which can significantly improve survival rates.
Residents are encouraged to make the most of this free screening opportunity, especially those experiencing warning signs such as a persistent cough, mouth ulcers, unexplained lumps, or sudden weight loss.

The Local MLA has urged citizens to take advantage of the mobile facility. “Early detection can save lives. I strongly encourage everyone, especially those with symptoms, to come forward and get screened,” she said.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to proactive healthcare and spreading awareness about cancer prevention and early diagnosis in rural and semi-urban communities.
The screening is entirely free of charge and open to all residents.
