PONDA: Goa Dairy Chairman Rajesh Faldesai has welcomed the raid and arrest of the dairy’s Assistant Manager Vinayak Dharwadkar by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Dharwadkar was raided for demanding bribe from a contractor of the dairy.
Addressing a press conference here, Faldesai informed that Dharwadkar has been suspended immediately, pending inquiry against him.
“Goa Dairy will become corruption free and its affairs will improve only when such corrupt staffers are removed from its employment,” he said.
Faldesai disclosed that this is the third time that Dharwadkar has been suspended; the officer was suspended in 2015 for negligence and in 2017 for non-essential purchases, spare parts for which recovery of Rs 70,000 had been made from him.
The Goa Dairy Chairman assured to provide all cooperation to ACB in conducting investigation against Dharwadkar.
Faldesai also called upon the Dairy workers and staff to discharge their duties honestly and stay away from such practices. He also warned of take strict action for misconduct.
Meanwhile, sources informed that the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau searched the house of Dharwadkar at Ponda for incriminating documents.
