Goa hikes price of kerosene
HERALD REPORTER
PANJIM, MARCH 31
The hike in the prices  of   kerosene  effected   by  the  central  government  from  June- July 2009, will  be  implemented  in  Goa  from April 1, 2010.
The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has issued a notification effecting increase in wholesale and retail prices of kerosene.  It has effected an average hike of  43 per paise per liter of kerosene used for domestic purpose.
The last time, the price was fixed was in 2005.  The department  could  not  effect  a hike in the prices of  kerosene when the central  government  issued direction  increasing  kerosene  prices  across the country in July last  year.
The problem was about fixing the new price and hence the department wrote to the Central government requesting it to show a way, said our sources in the department.
Goa’s kerosene quota  is 2055  kilo liters  and there are  1475  dealers and  245  hawkers in the State.
