Social activist Siddesh Bhagat has strongly refuted claims that Goans lack initiative, asserting that the migration of local talent is driven by corruption and systemic discrimination rather than laziness.
Bhagat pointed out that hardworking Goans are often forced to struggle for years to obtain basic licences and approvals, while outsiders allegedly receive clearances with ease. He said this unequal treatment discourages local entrepreneurship and compels skilled Goans to seek opportunities outside the state.

“Our Goan talent leaves because of corruption, not laziness. Locals fight endlessly for licences, while outsiders get instant approvals. Stop insulting hard-working Goans to hide the fact that you cannot create opportunities,” Bhagat stated.
He further accused the authorities of deflecting blame onto citizens instead of addressing governance failures, and called for transparent, fair and time-bound approval systems to ensure equal opportunities for Goans to thrive within their own state.
