PANJIM: Concerned by the drop in standards in quality of school education following National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2021 findings, the State government has decided to track and monitor performance of the students, right from its admission at nursery level till it attains the higher studies, in a bid to upgrade the curriculum, as and when required.
The government is also exploring possibilities of implementing Central Civil Services (CCS) Conduct Rules for teachers, in the government aided schools, to ensure that they are full-time and not involved in any other business.

A day after schools re-opened for the new academic term 2022-23, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday chaired the crucial meeting to review the school education system.
The meeting was called following NSA report 2021, as per which Goa student’s average performance remained below national average in Mathematics across the Classes of III, V, VIII and X. The data also remained fluctuated between below and above national average for subjects such as languages, social science and science.
Sawant, who also holds the Education portfolio, said that Goa was below the national average according to the findings of the NAS report and it is something to be concerned about.
