PANJIM: The Mopa Airport Police have booked a 34-year-old Gujarat native for allegedly attempting to travel to Mumbai with a live bullet.
According to police, during security screening the airport security staff detected a live round (Ammunition Caliber .32) inside the wallet of the accused identified as Kuldeep Singh Rana.
When asked, Rana could not produce a valid arms license to carry and possess the round and also couldn’t produce permission from the competent authority to carry the same in the aircraft which violated the rules of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) guidelines.
An offence under section 3 read with 25 of Arms Act 1959 has been registered at Mopa Airport Police Station and the case is being investigated by PSI Sagar Vazarkar.
