Gujarat native drowns off Sinquerim coast

CALANGUTE, JUNE 13 A 24-year-old native of Navsari-Gujarat drowned off Sinquerim coast on Saturday. According to Dristhi reports, Siddhi Thakkar along with her colleagues from Gujarat had gone on the rocks at the foothill of Fort Aguada, where high velocity waves hit the rocks.

A 24-year-old native of Navsari-Gujarat drowned off Sinquerim coast on Saturday.
According to Dristhi reports, Siddhi Thakkar along with her colleagues from Gujarat had gone on the rocks at the foothill of Fort Aguada, where high velocity waves hit the rocks.
Siddhi and two of her friends, Sejal and Brigesh, were caught in one sudden high velocity wave. Sejal escaped with minor bruises, Brigesh managed to hang on to a rock, but Siddhi was swept away.
Drishti lifeguards carried out search for Siddhi and succeeded after a long struggle in waters. Siddhi was brought to the shores in an unconscious state and administered necessary first aid, however she did not regain her consciousness.
She was rushed to Primary Health Centre Candolim for medical attention, where she was declared brought-in dead. Later, the body was handed over to Calangute police for further investigation.
