Pernem polices arrested a 25-year-old man identified as Shubham Madan, a native of Haryana, under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following a complaint lodged by Ms. Elmira Kulmakhanova, a 44-year-old Kazakhstan national.
The complaint, filed on the 12th of December 2023 at 18:47 hours, detailed an alleged theft at H.No.224, Pethechawada Korgao, Pernem. According to Ms. Kulmakhanova, the accused, known to her as a friend, purportedly stole 2000 US Dollars from her wardrobe. The stolen amount roughly translates to approximately ₹1,66,000 in Indian currency.
