CANACONA: A haystack in a field at Yeda, Cotigao, caught fire on Wednesday evening, causing a loss of around Rs 50,000.
Fire and Emergency personnel said that some children were playing there and they might have accidently set fire to the haystack. Fire personnel quickly reached the spot and doused the fire from spreading to the surrounding haystacks.
The fire fighting team consisted of sub-officer Mahadev Lolienkar and fire fighters Ratnakar Velip, Omresh Mokhardkar and Vasant Velip.
