Following a report by Herald highlighting the drinking water crisis in Talsai village, authorities conducted an on-site inspection and initiated immediate measures to address the issue.

Sanguem Deputy Collector Milindra Velip visited the village along with officials from the Drinking Water Department, Health Department, and the Joint Mamlatdar’s office to assess the situation firsthand.
During the inspection, the Deputy Collector examined the condition of the two wells that serve as the primary source of water for the villagers. After reviewing the situation, he advised residents not to consume the water and cautioned them against using it for livestock as well, citing concerns over contamination.
To address the problem, officials were directed to undertake immediate cleaning of the affected wells. As a temporary relief measure, the Deputy Collector instructed the concerned department to install a 2,000-litre water storage tank and ensure the supply of water sourced from a borewell for the village’s daily needs.
The swift response brought relief to the residents, many of whom expressed satisfaction over the authorities’ intervention. Villagers also thanked Herald for bringing the issue to public attention and helping facilitate prompt action by the administration.
The development is being seen as a positive step towards resolving the water crisis, with residents hopeful that long-term solutions will be implemented to ensure access to safe drinking water in the village.
