PANJIM: The Sunburn Klassique organisers suffered a major blow on Friday when the High Court of Bombay at Goa directed the removal of all structures erected for the EDM festival and then to apply for a no-objection certificate from the local panchayat.
The Court also directed that if the organisers do not remove the structures, then the Panchayat, with the help of police, will have to do it. It also asked the panchayat to consider the NOC application only after the land is restored to its original condition.
The Court also directed that permission for the event will be effective only after the organisers deposit Rs 2.25 crore security with Tourism Department.
The matter will be next heard on January 6, 2020.
