PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Tuesday ordered release of Anand Gautam alias Basu from Indore, accused of running prostitution racket by trafficking gullible girls to the State.
The Court ordered that Basu be released upon furnishing a personal bond of Rs 25,000 with one or two sureties in the like amount. He has been asked not to enter the State, Indore and the Nagpur, till the conclusion of the trial and to furnish the details of his residential address and contact number to the trial Court as well as to the Crime Branch Police Station, Ribandar. He will not enter the State except for the purpose of reporting to the Police Station and attending the trial in the present case as well as in respect of other criminal cases pending in the trial Court.
The applicant has been asked not to tamper with the evidence, nor influence, induce, threaten or coerce the prosecution witnesses and not to make any attempt to contact or intimidate them. He has been further asked to report to the Crime Branch Police Station, Ribandar, once every fortnight from 1 pm to 3 pm every alternate Wednesday commencing from June 28.
