The High Court has dismissed a petition that contested the Goa government’s decision to delegate the authority to delimit the wards of the Corporation of the City of Panjim to the Director of Municipal Administration.
The court ruled that the delegation of powers was legally valid and did not warrant any interference. The petitioners had argued that such a move undermined due process and transparency in the delimitation exercise. However, the bench held that the government acted within its jurisdiction, effectively clearing the way for the Director of Municipal Administration to proceed with redrawing ward boundaries.
