PERNEM: The Community Health Centre, Tuem on Wednesday issued 105 notices to the houses discharging waste water into river.
The health centre has issued notices to the households to immediately disconnect pipelines discharging waste water into the river between the months of March and May.
According to the sources, these households were discharging their waste water of washed clothes, toilets and other activities into the river.
These houses situated close to the river which do not have soap pits and place to discharge waste water used to leave it into the river.
The health centre had issued first show cause notice, however, those who have fail to compile the requirements will be now issued second show cause notice followed by third.
However, if they still continue to discharge water into the river, their water and electricity will be disconnected.
Sources informed that the number of houses discharging water into the river is higher in tourism promoting areas where commercial activities are high compared to local residential areas.
A few have already compiled with the requirements and have asked for two months’ time period for compilation.
The sanitary team will be now inspecting the houses who had asked two months’ time period.
