PANJIM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of very heavy rainfall across the state from Thursday. The department has issued an orange alert for Thursday through Saturday.
In press release, IMD Goa stated that south west monsoon was weak over Goa during the last 24 hours, Monday – Tuesday afternoon. However, rain and thundershowers occurred at most places over the State.
IMD further stated, “Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over North Goa and South Goa on June 25 and 26. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places with very heavy rainfall at isolated places on June 27, 28 and 29.”
The Department issued an orange alert which mean that the likelihood of very rainfall is high and citizens need to be prepared.
