PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Goa on June 25, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds gusting between 40 and 50 kmph at isolated places across North and South Goa districts.
According to the latest weather advisory, the state is likely to experience unsettled weather conditions as active monsoon activity continues over the region. The IMD has cautioned residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, especially in areas vulnerable to waterlogging, falling trees and power disruptions.

The forecast indicates that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph are very likely at isolated locations on Thursday. Heavy rainfall is also expected in several parts of the state during the period.
The weather department has advised fishermen, motorists and the general public to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions. Residents have also been urged to avoid sheltering under trees and to stay away from damaged electrical infrastructure during thunderstorms.
