PANJIM: The Director of Health Services on Saturday issued fresh advisory asking private organisations and industries to stagger timings of workers to avoid crowding at workplace.
“The Government of Goa issued the advisory keeping in view the need for implementation of guidelines uniformly on social distancing strictly,” said an advisory signed by Dr Jose D’Sa.
Following is the
fresh advisory:
• Regulate working hours in all services except for essential services. Industrial services to adopt staggered timings and regulation of the crowd in the market should also be resorted to.
• Private sector to consider work from home, wherever feasible.
• Sporting events, competitions and religious gatherings to be postponed and maintained required social distancing even in smaller gatherings.
• All senior citizens (except for public representatives / government servants/ medical professionals) to remain indoors and avoid gatherings, except for medical reasons and need for essential services.
• All children below 10 years of age to remain at home and avoid going to public parks, picnic and other games requiring large number of participants.
• All health establishments to avoid non-urgent hospitalisation and minimum elective surgeries.
• Citizens, particularly youth, are called upon to be volunteers to support the government’s ongoing efforts in management of COVID-19.
• Sensitize on appropriate use of masks and good hygiene practices including washing hands with soap.
• Members of public to not resort to panic buying of daily necessities as the supply chain for this will continue to be uninterrupted.
