Jewellery shop burgled at Calangute

Jewellery worth about Rs 1 lakh was stolen from Mega Gold Jewellery Shop at Naikka Vaddo, Calangute on Wednesday night.
According to Calangute Police, some persons broke open the shutter of the jewellery shop and decamped with ornaments like gold rings, silver rings, finger rings, nose pins, golden lockets, silver rings with stones and silver pendants on the intervening night of Wednesday and early Thursday morning.
In his complaint, the shop owner, Samanta Bishuta Gunadhar of Porba Vaddo, Calangute, has estimated the loss at about Rs 1 lakh. Calangute Police has registered the case under Sections 457 and 380 IPC. PSI Harish Gauns is investigating the case.
