Kala Academy declares results of art exhibition

PANJIM: Kala Academy Goa has declared the results of 43rd State Art Exhibition (Student Category).

PANJIM: Kala Academy Goa has declared the results of 43rd State Art Exhibition (Student Category).
Accordingly, in the Painting and Graphic Print Section, Girish  Ramchandra Naik, in applied and graphic design section, Alfred Fernandes and in sculpture section, Gaurang D Naik have been awarded the first prize of Rs 10,000 each.
Artists Prafulla Dhanukar Award of Rs 15,000 for the Best work in the exhibition has been declared to Ashish Ulhas Phaldesai. Mohan Naik, Sachin Madage and Assavri Kulkarni judged this exhibition of competitive nature.  In painting and graphic print section, Akshaydeep D Gawade and Saiesh Bharat Mahale secured second and third prize respectively. Whereas In applied art and graphic design section, Bhaktesh J. Naik got second prize and Yash Damodar Nevrekar the third place. In sculpture section, Gaurav Gurudas Naik was given second prize and Akshay Chari the third prize. Prize sponsored by Goa Hindu Association in memory of Late Raoji V. Gaunekar was secured by Sanayvi Sadanand Naik, whereas Late Hanumanth Neugi Memorial prize was allotted to Rajat Shripad Naik. 
Kala Academy is organising the State Art Exhibition for the last 42 years. This year, altogether 111 works were received in all the three sections and a total of 71 works were selected for display in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Minister for Art & Culture and Chairman of Kala Academy Govind Gaude on March 6, at 5 pm in the Art Gallery of Kala Academy which will be followed by prize distribution function. 
This exhibition will be on view for public till March 10, between 10 am and 7 pm.
