KTC repays Rs 42 cr loan to GSCB

PANJIM: The KTC has cleared it's over Rs 42 crore dues to the Goa State Cooperative Bank (GSCB), bank officials said. The loan was pending payment for about 7years.

PANJIM: The KTC  has cleared it’s over Rs 42 crore dues to the Goa State Cooperative Bank (GSCB), bank officials said. The loan was pending payment for about 7years.
The bank had also santioned around Rs 60 crore loans to truck owners. But officials expressed their optimism saying that with the chief minister announcing the package, though the truck loans had become NPAs, the owners would manage to pay them off.
He also informed that many owners had sold off their trucks and cleared their dues.
A new Tata truck costs approximately Rs 15.5 to Rs 16 lakh on road, and resale value of a two to three year old truck is Rs 10.5 to Rs 11 lakh.
