Panic has spread across Camurlim after a leopard reportedly killed a calf late at night, alarming local residents. The incident occurred in a residential area, raising concerns about the increasing movement of wild animals near human settlements. The calf, owned by a local resident identified as Yashdeep Naik, was found dead, triggering fear among villagers.
Following the attack, locals expressed serious concern over safety, especially for children and livestock. Many residents said this was not the first sighting of a leopard in the area and warned that such incidents could become more frequent if immediate steps are not taken.
Villagers have urged the forest department to intervene quickly, capture the animal, and prevent further attacks. Authorities are expected to assess the situation and take necessary action as tension continues to remain high in the locality.
