Residents in the affected locality are facing persistent problems due to overflowing sewage pipes, allegedly caused by a choked main pipeline carrying waste.
Locals claim that hotels in the nearby area are dumping unwanted materials into the sewage line, leading to frequent blockages. As a result, sewage backs up into residential connections, creating unhygienic conditions and causing distress to households.
Residents have urged the Sewerage Department to install a thick net or filtration system at the junction where hotel sewage lines connect to the main pipeline. They believe such a measure would help prevent solid waste from entering and clogging the system.
The issue has reportedly become a recurring annual problem. Each time the pipeline gets choked, authorities are forced to dig up the main road to carry out repairs, resulting in traffic congestion and inconvenience to commuters.
Locals are now demanding a permanent solution to address the root cause of the problem and ensure smooth functioning of the sewage system.
