Panic spread among residents of Agonda after CCTV footage captured a leopard entering a residential compound around 2:45 a.m. The video shows the big cat scaling a high boundary wall and roaming inside the premises for a few moments before eventually making its way out. The sighting has sparked concern among locals, who fear for their safety and that of their pets and livestock.
According to residents, this is not the first time a wild animal has been spotted in the area, which lies close to forested patches and hilly terrain that serve as natural habitats for leopards. Villagers have urged the forest department to take precautionary measures and increase night patrols to prevent such incidents in the future. Officials are likely to examine the CCTV footage to trace the animal’s movement and ensure it is safely guided back to its natural habitat without posing any threat to the public.
