PANJIM: A delegation of liquor dealers from Ponda and Vasco met Excise Commissioner Menino D’Souza and informed him that some outlets located beyond 220 metres from the highway still face closure.
The traders alleged that wrong interpretation and measurements have resulted into the error although some outlets in areas with a population of less than 20,000 are covered under the Supreme Court’s fresh order giving them relaxation.
The Commissioner explained that the concerned village panchayats had failed to submit details including population resulting in the confusion.
