CALANGUTE, MAY 31
At least four persons had a lucky escape when a car rammed into a garage, before hitting two other cars at Naikka Vaddo-Calangute on Monday at about 1.30 pm.
According to Calangute police, the accident occurred when one Lobo, who was proceeding in his Ford car (GA-03-H-9007) from Saligao towards Calangute, lost control over the vehicle and brushed against a Wagon R (GA-03-T-7439), which was undergoing repairs at Guru Kruppa Garage.
The Ford car rammed into the shed, but stopped short of knocking down inmates of Prakash Palyekar’s house due to a parked Maruti car (GA-03-T-4173) in front of the entrance.
Both the cars were partly damaged, while the house balcony of Prakash Palyekar was also damaged. The shed was also brought down by the speeding vehicle.
Luckily, the painter, mechanic and another person, who were at the spot, had a miraculous escape. The occupant of the Ford car also had a lucky escape. HC Datta Sawant is investigating the case.
