TMC Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister
Mamata Banerjee closed the doors on any alliance with Congress saying, “ I
cannot say anything now. Modi will be more powerful because of Congress. Why
did Congress contest against me in West Bengal? Why did they not contest
against BJP? She questioned. Making a strong case for alliance with Regional
Parties in Goa, Mamata said, “I want to see regional parties are strong.
If they are strong, Goa will be strong. If Goa is strong. India will be
strong,” Mamata told media on Saturday, after sharing breakfast with them.
Well known Tiatrist and Singer Francis de
Tuem and activist Tara Kerkar joined the TMC, at International Centre Dona
Paula, on Saturday ahead of Mamata’s media interaction.
Mamata said we cannot talk to other parties
since they have their own freedom, own choice and set up. I can talk to
regional parties who are facing problem from the BJP. She reiterated that Goa
is faced with all round problems of unemployment, fishermen, taxi drivers,
farmers and issues related to the mining sector. Goa has everything, but
leadership is lacking. Let us build up Goa, so that Goa can stand on its feet.
Questioned by media, why no State Executive Committee of the TMC was constituted in Goa,
Didi said first let us talk to people. We are meeting with farmers, fishermen,
women, etc. It (constituting a State Executive) hardly matters, she added. We
have to make the media strong. If media is strong, country will be strong. Mamata emphasized that her fight against the
BJP will continue. There will be no compromise, she said.
