Pritash Singh was taken into custody on June 17 on allegations that he had travelled illegally to India and fraudulently obtained an Indian passport while allegedly holding Afghan nationality.

In its bail order, the court observed that the accused was born in India and noted that his Afghan passport had expired in September 2020.

The court also recorded that there was no evidence to indicate that Singh had used the Afghan passport after 2018, a factor that weighed in favour of granting him bail.

Based on these observations, the Additional Sessions Court allowed the bail application. The case, however, remains under investigation, and the allegations against the accused will be examined during the course of the trial.
