A resident of Ansabhat-Mapusa was duped to the tune of Rs 1.15 crore by three persons.
In a complaint, Charles Pais told Porvorim police that the three persons, one S Marshal, J Henriques and H Motiwala, cheated him to in land dealing between February 20, 2007 and April 21 2007.
Pais further stated that the three persons conspired and fraudulently induced him to deliver an amount of Rs 1,15,00,000 on the pretext of selling the property admeasuring 500 acres (20 lakh sq mtrs) at the rate of Rs 57.50 per sq mtr, as against the total amount of Rs 11,50,00,000.
The accused took the advance of Rs 1,15,00,000, but failed to sell the property and misappropriated the amount.
Porvorim police has registered an offence against the three misappropriate accused under Sections 420, 406, 403 read with Section 120 B of IPC. Porvorim PI Devendra Gad is investigating the case.
