MARGAO: The seven-day fair held at the Old market area of the commercial capital ended officially on Sunday, but vendors made brisk business throughout Monday right under the nose of the Margao Municipal authorities.
While some of the vendors began dismantling the stalls on Monday morning, a large number of these continued business as usual, raising suspicions on the collusion between the vendors and the Municipal officials.
When the situation was brought to the notice of the MMC Chief Officer IAS Naveen, he promised to look into the matter and initiate action against the erring officials.
People in the know said that this is not the first time that vendors have continued on with their businesses beyond seven days.
