Margao locals receive soggy letters, demand shelter for exposed post box

MARGAO: Residents of Margao have raised concerns over the lack of shelter for the main post box located outside the Margao Head Post Office during the monsoon season. Members of the consumer advocacy group GOACAN have complained that letters deposited in the rusty, leaky box are getting soaked due to exposure to the rain.

“The letter box outside the Margao Head Post Office urgently needs rain protection as letters are getting wet,” stated GOACAN representatives. “When will this damaged letter box be replaced?

It’s time for action from the postal authorities.”

The group has officially recorded the grievance in the Complaint Book maintained at the post office premises. Locals are demanding that the post office take immediate measures to either repair or replace the current letter box with one that has adequate covering to shield letters from the monsoon showers.
