MARGAO: The former chairman and vice-chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, have demanded an explanation from the government for their “unceremonious” removal from their respective positions.
Prashant Naik, who is the vice president and spokesman of Goa Forward and Sai Palondikar, who was the vice-chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, have been removed from their respective posts. Both had a press briefing in Margao on Thursday claiming that their removal is unceremonious.
Reading out a big list of their achievements while being at the helm of affairs at Ravindra Bhavan, Prashant and Sai said that they have made Ravindra Bhavan vibrant with the responsibility given to them by their party leader Vijai Sardesai.
“Is it because Vijai is at loggerheads with Chief Minister? It is for the people of Goa and most Salcete to decide why we were removed 35 days before the term ended. An explanation is bound to be given,” Naik said.
“It is unceremonious removal. I would be happy to get grounds for the removal. This is arrogance,” Sai Palondikar said.
“We were getting many political pressures to lay off the staff hired by the old chairman. But, we were against that. Instead, we even made sure to put all our efforts to get the unutilised resources of the Margao Ravindra Bhavan to use,” Sai added.
