PONDA: Goa Goraksha Abhiyan Chief Hanumant Parab has accused the authorities at Goa Meat Complex at Usgao of failing to follow the directives of the High Court.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the meat complex at Usgao on Monday, Parab said the guidelines set by the High Court with regard to slaughtering of cattle are not being followed and he will soon approach the High Court and file a petition.
According to Parab, the High Court had directed to install CCTV cameras to keep a vigil on the process of slaughtering, but so far no such cameras were installed at the complex.
“Further, there are no proper transportation certificates, as required, to know details of transportation of cattle. About 83 cattle were brought to the complex, out of which five were rejected. The court allowed slaughtering the cattle here for three days, from October 5 to 7, on the occasion of Id celebrations,” stated Parab.
