PANJIM: Asserting that the end of the BJP-MGP alliance is visible, rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar on Friday claimed that the saffron party will not win even five seats in the upcoming State Legislative Assembly elections due to the nature of insults meted out by it to its alliance partner.
Velingkar, whose political outfit Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) has extended an offer to MGP to fight the election in alliance, said that the next government in Goa can be formed by MGP and GSM.
“If BJP wins even five seats in the upcoming elections, then we can say that the party has really ruled well in Goa during the last five years,” he said.
“The new government after 2017 election can be of MGP-GSM. The future of Goa is bright in the hands of these two political parties. The voters have started realizing that BJP’s behaviour towards them and their own leaders is unfair,” Velingkar said, adding that MGP President Pandurang (Dipak) Dhavalikar’s statement to replace Laxmikant Parsekar is the end result of what MGP has been facing for the last five years. Velingkar said that MGP was forced to face humiliation by BJP despite being an alliance partner.
GSM has given MGP a deadline of mid-January to decide on an alliance. GSM, has already announced its alliance with Shiv Sena and Goa Praja Party, and named six candidates including former BJP Minister Suresh Amonkar, ex-MGP Minister Pandurang Raut and Congress MLA Shyam Satardekar.
