Mines ministers to meet in Goa this month

PANJIM: A crucial meeting of all mining States will be held on May 27 in Goa, wherein key issues pertaining to the sector involving major and minor minerals will be discussed.

PANJIM: A crucial meeting of all mining States will be held on May 27 in Goa, wherein key issues pertaining to the sector involving major and minor minerals will be discussed. E-auction of iron ore leases and State’s preparedness to curb illegal mining will be the major focus of the day-long meeting to be chaired by Union Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
In a letter to State government, Under Secretary (Mines) A K Malik said this meeting with Mines Ministers of all State governments has been called by the Union Minister of Mines in Goa. However, the meeting’s venue has not yet been finalized.
The preparedness for e-auction of major mineral blocks and the steps taken in this regards would be discussed during the meeting.
