NEW DELHI: After remaining at second position this week for being taken up immediately after completion of the Karnataka mining cases, the Goa mining ban case has slipped to eighth position in the cause list of the Forest Bench for Tuesday, out on Saturday.
Six fresh matters have been listed for hearing first by the 3-judge Bench headed by Justice Aftab Alam before it resumes the hearing of the Karnataka matters that went whole of this week.
The Bench is sitting only up to 2.55 pm on Tuesday and that means the Goa case may not come up even next week as the hearing is held by this Bench for only three days a week and the Karnataka matters are still no where in sight to conclude soon.
The Goa government has moved the Court for an early hearing to lift the complete ban it slapped on all mining activities in the State since October 5. Several mine owners, their associations as also affected employees and other associations have also joined as intervener in the petition filed by Goa Foundation.
